BOYZDANCE

At The Dance Studio, we offer classes specifically designed to encourage the male dancers among us. The Dance Studio founder, Jacqui, has always been passionate about providing a safe space for boys to explore their movement potential so has created opportunities for young male dancers to feel included and valued within the dance community. Boyzdance students will learn from strong male role models within classes where boys are actively encouraged to join with some classes made up entirely of male students.

The following classes would be recommended to our male dancers looking to learn from and amongst fellow male dancers:

  • Stomp & Groove Classes

    Ages 4-5

This class is for young groovers who want to learn introductory skills in Hip Hop and rhythmic dance forms. Suitable for active youngsters, Stomp & Groove students will dance to popular music and learn some cool moves. This class is especially suitable for boys and those with boundless energy to spare.

Our junior dancers are all encouraged to be part of our end of year celebration concert at the end of November.

  • Hip Hop Classes

    Ages 6+

Hip Hop is an ever evolving genre of dance that has become very popular and influential among modern youth. Including many street dance styles, hip hop allows students to explore their own personal flair, find their groove and grow in confidence.

We offer all boy classes for many of our younger Hip Hop grades. Email us to enquire.

  • Tap Classes

    Ages 5+

Tap dance is a rhythmical dance form where dancers create percussive music while moving. Students will find themselves being their own musical instrument using their feet in unexplored ways.

Taught by both male and females teachers, tap will appeal to the boys who love to make noise and want to move with strength and power. Email us to enquire.

  • Contemporary Classes

    Ages 9+

Originally emerging as a rebellion against the technical rigidity of ballet, contemporary evolved as an expressive dance style utilising momentum and release within its movements. Contemporary students will learn about the movement of their bodies and how this can be harnessed in order to create new ways of moving.

Taught with both male and female teachers, contemporary will appeal to many male dancers as an exploratory and ambiguous dance form. Email us to enquire.

  • Additional Opportunities

At The Dance Studio, we value the performance opportunities we can provide for our dancers and for some events, Boyzdance students can benefit from additional opportunities to group together and learn performance pieces.

When available, these opportunities will be offered to our Boyzdance students currently enrolled at The Dance Studio.
